Look (Event Photos)
Got a great photo you’d like to share about life inside a long-term care facility? Maybe it’s a resident’s 100th birthday party, a picnic, pet therapy visits, or a Wii bowling competition … help us show those who have never experienced long-term care that there is indeed quality of life and a sense of community.
Send it to Alison Everett at the Pennsylvania Health Care Association.

Senator Kim Ward (R-Westmoreland County) stopped by Hempfield Manor, a HCF Management facility, in Greensburg in December 2009 to meet with staff, their residents and tour the facility. During the tour, Senator Ward had the opportunity to speak with George Vojtek (pictured above) and answer his questions about state government and what legislative reforms she supports to fix Harrsiburg. |

Medicare Funding Signing
![]() |
Staff and residents at Shadyside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh sign a petition asking Congress to ensure that nursing homes receive adequate Medicare funding to support quality care for Pennsylvania's seniors. Under current U.S. House of Representatives healthcare reform legislation - which is due for a floor vote upon Congress' return from August recess - Medicare funding for seniors in nursing homes would be cut by more than $32 billion over ten years, equating to a loss of nearly $2.1 billion in funding for Pennsylvania's seniors receiving nursing home care. |
